BPW (Business and Professional Women) have embarked on a pledge to end child marriage across the contient of Africa. The regional director of BPW, Adenike Adeyanju-Osadolor, stated that child marriage is a common problem across Africa and it starts on the grassroots level. “In Northern Nigeria where I hail from, the rate of child marriage is at 70percent. School going children as young as 15 years are often married off,” said Osadolor.
