“Forrester Research predicts Canadians will spend $39 billion online by 2019, about 10 per cent of all retail purchases in Canada.”   Currently less than half of Canadian small businesses have websites.  The City of Toronto is looking to change that.  Looking to become the first city with a support system “to help more small businesses get online”, Toronto is launching The Digital Main Street platform, which “includes an online hub, digital service squad dispatched to train local businesses on web strategy, training and workshops to help the city’s small business community market and sell online.”
