In February of 2017, the American Bar Association on Standard 316, “ …which requires all law schools “to prove that at least 75 percent of students in each class have passed a bar examination within two years of graduation.” Opponents of Standard 316 claim this will hurt alot of minority students in law school. Furthermore, academic deans at HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and University) pushed it a step forward and stated that the 75 percent rule will threaten their very existence.
