The saying “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” is a well known belief that beauty is subjective.  Unfortunately, this saying has held little weight in the fashion and entertainment industry. Through the years, beauty has been objectively tall, skinny, and tan. 

The fashion industry has failed for years to highlight the beauty of diversity and people with disabilities. Even beyond the fashion industry, our society has given the disabled a hideous face and label. With the help of organizations like Changing the Face of Beauty, the goal of equal representation for people with disabilities in the media can be achieved.
