According to Chantel McGee’s Daily Dot article, diversity and inclusion have been two problems tech giants in Silicon Valley can’t seem to solve. With the lack of dialogue, diversity has become the new f-word. It seems no one is willing to define these words, which has led to an intense problem. McGee believes that in order to solve this, we must be willing to have open and real conversations about race in corporate America.  “We’ve ignored the elephant in the room long enough.”

McGee is head on about diversity being the new f-word. The word seems to come off your tongue like a double edge sword, spuing out deadly blows to its listeners. Our fear to speak about diversity comes solely from our fear to speak about the problems we are facing in America. The problems consist of racism, classism and privilege. If we open up about these issues, then problems such as diversity wouldn’t be so hush hush.
