New Mexico will be home to the new Facebook data center which will focus on connecting with small businesses.  The facility is expected to be completed in 2018 and sit south of  Albuquerque in the village of Los Lunas.  This month, Facebook and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce “are using workshops in New Mexico and across the country to attract Latino-owned companies in hopes they use more tools on the social media giant’s platform. ”

Latino-owned businesses are the future of America, and educating them on the benefits of technology is a great thing.  Although Los Lunas had to give up a lot to win the bid for the data center facility (including no taxes fro 30 years), I do believe a new Facebook facility will bring jobs and economic stimulation to the city and its neighboring suburbs.  This is a long term invest that will pay off.
