Sean Cohan is the president of international and digital at A+E Networks, overseeing 75 branded channels across more than 200 territories. He is also committed to diversity. Born into a bi-racial family and raised in a New York suburb, Cohan is the driving force behind the “Roots” remake.
“Cohan, who will deliver a keynote address along with YouTube’s Susanne Daniels and creator/executive producer Adi Hasakone, is one of the driving forces behind the Women in Global Entertainment Summit and this year’s new Diversity Summit.” The Diversity Summit at Mipcom will host two panels and roundtable discussions on the importance of diversity in entertainment. "The Diversity Summit follows the same approach as the Women in Global Entertainment confab: It’s meant to create a platform to encourage interaction between people of color, and spur more representation.“
Diversity in entertainment, in particular tv is at a fever pitch. Now is the time to take advantage of the increase in diversity hirings, and it looks as if Cohan is helping push that trend.
