LinkedIn is asking small business owners to share their stories as part of a new contest. LinkedIn ProFinder Small Business Contest is an initiative to get business owners to share some information about their company’s story and “…explain the impact it has had on themselves, their customers and their community.” With a panel of judges, LinkedIn will choose at least three winners with 1st place will take home $5000.

According to John Nemo from Business 2 Community “ LinkedIn is clearly making a move to court more direct buying and selling of products and services between members.” With this as well as additional initiatives upcoming, the social media site is seeking a new form of revenue building while courting new audience.
