As companies slowly process and accept the Presidential election, Microsoft has become the first tech company to congratulate the winner. Although not many tech corporations supported the now President, organizations will slowly have to accept the result if they want to success in America moving forward.
In addition to congratulating Donald Trump, Microsoft has also made it very clear they will be uncompromising in key aspects. "We’re committed to promoting not just diversity among all the men and women who work here, but the type of inclusive culture that will enable people to do their best work and pursue rewarding careers.“ Chief legal officer Brad Smith stated. In combating Trump’s comment that tech company’s should create a backdoor for government use, Smith wrote that Microsoft is "committed to developing technology that is secure and trusted, both for Americans and for people around the world.”
Time will tell how the relationship between the government and companies like Microsoft will progress but for now, I am sure both sides are hopeful.
