Small Business Saturday is only a few weeks away.  As companies get ready for what should be a record setting day, there are a few things to keep in mind when considering advertising strategies.  For starters let’s look at the numbers.

According to CMS Wire “Last year, over 95 million consumers shopped local. They spent $16.2 billion, accounting for an estimated 35 percent of their holiday gift budget.”  With so many potential clients, it is important that your business reaches out to your specific niche of consumers.  Location based mobile advertising is the concept of promoting your products / services to audiences who fit your target market.

For example, let’s “say an owner of a yoga studio wants to reach people who lead healthy lifestyles. We can infer that people who go to gyms, use jogging paths or visit health food stores would be interested in information about yoga classes.”  This year, don’t just settle for a generic promotion strategy, but focus your business to target consumers who fit your offerings.
