Amazon founder Jeff Bezos recently commented on the company’s commitment to diversity under newly elected President Trump. In a letter written to Bezos asking about Amazon’s strategy moving forward, the founder had no problem reassuring employees and vendors of the company’s future direction.
“Amazon has always been, and always will be, committed to equal rights, tolerance and diversity. And we firmly reject, and have zero tolerance for, harassment of any kind…..We’re a company of builders whose diverse backgrounds, ideas, and points of view are critical to helping us invent on behalf of all our customers,” Bezos wrote. “But it’s not only that diversity and inclusion are good for our business. It’s more fundamental than that — it’s simply right.“
As Amazon pushes forward, I expect more companies to double down on their support for diversity.
