This Saturday, November 26th, the 7th annual Small Business Saturday will commence.  The national holiday looks to promote small firms throughout America, pushing consumers to visit and support their local outlets.  Small Business Satuday was concieved by American Express as a way to expand the coverage of their credit card, but has sense morphed into a billion dollar holiday including organizations not supported by the corporation.

To promote their local business, companies are getting creative.  Knot Just Any Day, a small business located in Wilkes-Barre providing “photography, video and graphic design services” is one example.  In an effort to draw potential customers, this Saturday everyone who purchases a greeting card will receive one dollar off their item.  In addition, the “F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts on Public Square will serve as a hub for the day of festivities and will host a holiday art market and a tree-lighting ceremony where local families can help decorate the tree."

This year all types of small businesses will partake in the Small Business Saturday holiday so make sure you head out and support your local community.
