Above the Law recently interview Access Group CEO Christopher Chapman (pictured above) about his organization and their commitment to diversity.  If you get a chance head over to Above the Law to check it out.

Access Group has awarded $1.28 million in grants to promote diversity and research in the education of law.  " Among this year’s award winners are: the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Chicago-Kent College of Law, St. John’s University School of Law, Ohio State University (in partnership with the Law and Leadership Institute), University of Baltimore School of Law, University of Houston Law Center, and Elon University School of Law.“

Access Group has always been about the promotion and advancement of the legal profession.  As a full service non-profit lender, the organization’s "membership is comprised of nearly 200 nonprofit and state-affiliated ABA-approved law schools.”  Although member schools pay no dues, they receive a direct benefit such as grants, financial consulting, “tools and publications; and, free distribution of research and other reports supporting the understanding and furtherance of access for diverse and underrepresented students, increased affordability, and the lasting value of a legal degree."
