Pulse Nightclub was the scene of the deadliest mass shooting by a single gunman in US history and the deadliest terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11.  The loss of life during the event was catastrophic leaving 49 people dead and 53 people wounded.

Unfortunately with the incident at 1912 South Orange Avenue, it turns out that local businesses have suffered a hit as well.  During the following days of the shootings, businesses in the local area were forced to shut their doors, loosing revenue in the process.  One dentist interviewed talks about how he was unable to service patients the following day of the awful event.

With 6 months passing since the shootings, the Orlando LGBT Center has taken it upon themselves to reach out and support their local community.  The LGBT Center passed out grant checks totally around $30,000 to 7 businesses in an effort to offset the loss of revenue since the Pulse travesty.

All businesses were very appreciative and the money will be used to pay off bills and a continued local support.  It’s always a good thing to learn about a community supporting itself through organizations reaching out and lending a helping hand.
