East Colorado receives $400,000 in small business funding #colorado

The Board of Weld County Commissioners in partnership with the Colorado Enterprise Fund have both agreed to contribute $200,000 in small business funding.  The capital donated will be used for various small business needs including “ startup expenses, operations, equipment and inventory purchases, property improvements, or the purchase of a business or franchise.” The program will focus on businesses who do not qualify for small business financing and need additional help.

The new loan is another great example of Colorado’s small business support system. According to a recent 2016 CNBC ranking, Colorado ranks 3rd in States that are Best for Business.

Although the state is best known for its legalization of marijuana, Colorado is also an energy and tech hub.

While the majority of support comes in its urban cities, the new funding opportunity for the northeastern region of the state is a major opportunity for an expansion of economic growth.  For more information about to the funding opporutnities, check out
