Brexit was the talk of the world in 2016. After the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union, a mini-panic engulf the country with many citizens unsure of their future. According to CNBC, the environment seems to be much more positive despite the decrease in currency and profits. While London and Scotland reflect the current economic projection in terms of confidence, the rest of the UK generally have a positive outlook.

The FSB’s Small Business Index which tracks the confidence of small businesses in the country showcased a +8.5 measure compared to pre-Brexit vote levels of +8.6. Is this return to normalcy a denial of the citizens or the beginning of a new growing economy is hard to say. Time will tell if there truly is reason to be positive within the UK, but for now the economic numbers say otherwise.
