If you’re a loyal reader of our news outlet then you should be familiar with the investment index known as SHE. For those unaware, SHE is an Index ETF started by State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) that invests based on a company’s gender diversity. “The California State Teachers’ Retirement System, CalSTRS, seeded the ETF with an initial $250 million. Since its inception nine months ago, the ETF has made 10.60%.”
For those looking for more ways to invest in the diversity market, there is good news. It seems more opportunities will be available for you as the London based Diversity Project is gaining stem.
The Diversity Project goal is to ease people into the investment world that are not familiar with its structure. The project is backed by 30 global companies including “Allianz Global Investors, BBC Pension Trust Ltd, Fidelity International, HSBC Global Asset Management and Invesco Perpetual” and will be headed by “Helena Morrissey, who recently left Newton Investment Management to join Legal & General Investment Management, the UK’s largest asset manager. Morrissey is also the founder of the 30% Club, whose goal is to make UK’s boardrooms at least 30 percent women.”
Diversity in investment seems to be expanding in recent times and I look forward to seeing where it will go from here.
