The Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual Small Business Supplier Expo and Forum this Tuesday, Feb. 14th from 1pm to 4pm at the Slover Library in Norfolk, VA. According to My La Tran, executive director of the Asian Chamber, “the aim of the Small Business Supplier Expo and Forum is to increase opportunities for small businesses and companies owned by women, veterans, minorities or the disadvantaged, to secure their fair share of government contracting dollars by connecting them with buying agencies and prime contractors.” Overall Tran hopes that small businesses, larger companies and government agencies use the event to develop potential relationships. Furthermore, Tran believes that the government and corporations will see the value of the diverse workfore-supply chain after attending the event.

The keynote speaker for this year’s event will be Vinod Agarwal. Adarwal is a professor of economics at Old Dominion University and director of the Economic Forecasting. The exhibitors will include the following: Commonwealth of Virginia/Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity, Virginia Department of Transportation, SB Ballard Construction and the City of Norfolk Economic Development.
