FourthWave is looking for diverse startup companies

Fourthwave, the Los Angles based nonproft and business accelerator program is now accepting applications for their 2017 program. Applications are open to qualified minority firms where at least, “50 percent of the equity is owned by women, and the leadership team and company makeup is culturally diverse.” The program will offer businesses in the areas of capital readiness, mentoring, coaching, education, problem-solving and leadership development.

The application deadline is March 30th.  Five applicants will be notified of their program acceptance no later than April 15th.

Tracy Saville, co-founder of FourthWave, spoke with Biz Journal about the upcoming program stating that it is not just for woman and emphasizing that “FourthWave is seeking startups that have high values of inclusion toward people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and a commitment in that regard when it comes to forming strategic partnerships.  [Furthermore]…the nonprofit is seeking a range of entrepreneurs, including those who are nearly at the prototype stage, beginning to generate revenue or ‘just about there’ — all the way up to later-stage companies.”
