If you’re a veteran owned business, take a look at the new Veteran Federal Procurement Entrepreneurship Training Program funding opportunity competition.  The competition is looking to award veteran entrepreneurs with more than $500,000 for up to four years.  According to recent reports, “The SBA will award the funding to a U.S.-based organization to expand an existing program they offer that provides federal procurement entrepreneurship training to veteran business owners and service-disabled veteran business owners.” One of the main goals of the programs is for more veteran entrepreneurs to not only compete for federal contracts but to actually win them. Many veteran entrepreneurs are overlooked when they search for funding opportunities but the SBA is focused on changing the narrative.

Here are a couple of specifications the SBA will be looking for win it comes to awarding applicants:

  • Performance metrics
  • Outcomes of the existing program and the ability to scale operations of the existing program to serve veteran entrepreneurs from all U.S. states and territories

On May 24th at 1pm (CST), the Office of Veterans Business Development will host a webinar to provide details and answer questions about the competition. Please visit www.sba.gov/ovbd for more information.

Applications can be submitted at www.grants.gov by Friday, June 8.
