Amazon Prime Day has come and gone and although this has only been the company’s third annual unofficial ‘holiday’ sales event, it has nonetheless been a big hit so far. According to CNBC, small businesses had a whopping 1,371 percent increase in Amazon sales during this year’s event with big discounts lasting from July 10th to July 11th Some company’s products, such as Simply Gum sold out within hours proving the effectiveness of Prime Day.

This year’s Prime Day was much different from last years with small businesses offering 50 percent more deals in comparison. In order for sellers to participate in Prime Day festivals, they had to discount product by at least 20 percent and ship product through Amazon. I wasn’t able to participate in this year’s festivals but next year I plan to take full advantage of Prime Day.

If you haven’t checked out Amazon Prime Day, make sure you put it on your calendar for next year.
