From the Industrial Revolution to mass production and technology advancements, today’s modern business revolution may revolve around Diversity.  While I know that may seem shocking to some, it does make alot of sense.  There is no idea that is as divisive yet important than the diversification of a workplace in both gender, race, sexual orientation, and thought.

Diversity in all sense makes for a better run organization.  According to Forbes “feminine skills and competencies – empathy, flexibility, openness and collaboration – are coming to the fore, not just as nice-to-haves but as business imperatives. John Gerzema and Michael D’Antonio revealed this finding in their book, The Athena Doctrine How Women (and the Men who Think Like Them) Will Rule the Future, which was based on research conducted among 64,000 people surveyed in thirteen nations.”

In today’s politically charged climate the idea of compromise is beginning to grow in terms of support.  Without it, we are seeing major issues arise like never before.  With America becoming more and more diverse, ideas like collaboration and openness are necessary to build and expand a business.

But change will not happen overnight.  Like any major revolution, it takes a generation to slowly evolve and understand the benefits of the new concept.  Diversity will continue to be a struggle as people figure out how best to implement and benefit from it, but I do believe it will eventually lead to a better society.
