The annual Small Business Saturday, started by American Express, will take place this month on November 25th in an effort to promote small business throughout the country.  In an effort to help increase business with small firms after Thanksgiving, American Express has teamed with multiple organizations to advance small business needs.  According to the American Express website, a few of these partnerships will include:

  • Shop Small® for the Holidays with Etsy: American Express and Etsy have teamed up to celebrate online small business owners from coast to coast. On Small Business Saturday, Etsy sellers will host holiday pop-up markets in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, San Antonio, and Wichita, providing a destination to shop locally crafted, one-of a kind items this holiday season. Visit www.etsy.com/madelocal/us to find more details on local Etsy seller markets near you.
  • Sweet Snaps with Museum of Ice Cream: Museum of Ice Cream—an interactive museum and ice cream extravaganza—is teaming up with American Express to celebrate small businesses at its San Francisco location. On Small Business Saturday, shoppers will have the opportunity to attend events at the newest Museum of Ice Cream location and receive special access to photographable installations as well as sweet treats from local vendors. The annual Small Business Saturday is a national event that has seen billions of dollars spent with local organizations.  For those looking to support the holiday besides purchasing from small firms you can post your favorite localities with the #ShopSmall and #SmallBizSat all this month.

Last year Small Business Saturday saw over $16 billion in spending throughout America.
