The “Spiderverse” is expanding with the first ever introduction of Miles Morales to the animated / film universe.
Morales history began when Donald Glover (ATL / upcoming Star Wars and Lion King movie star) posted a picture of him wearing the Spider man costume. Based on the positive reception, Marvel created the first ever half black half Hispanic character, introducing him as the new Spider Man.
For those unaware, Marvel has recently been promoting more diverse characters in its lineup. While most characters have not been received positively, Miles Morales has easily been an exception to the rule which makes his animated introduction a much needed event.
I’m very excited to see Morales’ coming out party to the broader audience and I think that this will do wonders in expanding Marvel’s fanbase for the future.
