The dawn of the internet star has been around for years now, with Youtube being one of the biggest harbingers.  As internet stars continue to increase, the video platform has recently contracted with its larger accounts to created a premium service for Youtube viewers.  As the premium service grows, Youtube has made it a priority to grant opportunities for everyone who can offer quality content.  At the Television Critics Association press tour, YouTube global content head Susanne Daniels told the room that a priority for the company  “is finding diverse new female voices and championing them,”

With the push for inclusion in content, about “70% of YouTube’s upcoming series episodes are helmed by women.”  A big example of this is the upcoming  “Youth and Consequences” dramedy where women directed all eight episodes.  For those looking to navigate and ultimately use the platform to catapult into other forms of entertainment, Youtube is granting a huge opportunity for all involved.

In the final words of Robert Kyncl, YouTube’s chief business officer, “Diversity is a key tenet of our company on every single level.”
