Instagram is slowly becoming business friendly. The platform is no longer just a place to share pictures with friends, but is also a big marketing tool that attracts new and young talent. With the changes coming, businesses are taking the social platform more serious and have begun to make use of its updated technology.  A new added feature coming to Instagram is the ability for business owners to schedule posts due to the social media site’s  new API.

Hootsuite CEO Ryan Holmes recently spoke about the recent change stating that, “The scheduling and publishing of Instagram content has been the number one request for our 16 million customers. Now, they can manage large volumes of content, multiple team members and multiple Instagram accounts with ease and security. Hootsuite is excited to partner with Instagram to make this happen.”

Another new update Instagram has implemented is a business discovery which allows users to view business profile information.  The profile also includes the Graph API which analyzes metrics and insights about business performance, and access/respond to business’ mentions.
