In order to expand and enhance the tech field, the United Kingdom’s Minister for Digital and Creative Industries Margot James will be requesting major tech firms support a boost for workplace gender diversity. To accomplish this, James will ask major tech firms to sign the Tech Talent Charter which is a document “commitment by organisations to a set of undertakings that aim to deliver greater diversity in the tech workforce of the UK, one that better reflects the make-up of the population. “

The Chater makes it clear that the UK is committed to gender diversity and it also provides tech firms with clear direction as to how to boost gender diversity within the workplace. As of now, more than 125 signatories have been received. Among the list of companies who have signed include Dell, Sage and Cisco.
