The Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University in Partnership with Inc. Magazine released the Vet50 last week, listing the fastest-growing veteran-owned businesses in the country. The announcement came during the Veteran EDGE conference in Austin, TX, which “brings together over 300 stakeholders, to include researchers, thought leaders, veteran service and small business organizations.” The new Vet50 list, powered by First Data, a global payment solutions company, was developed based on the revenues of the identified veteran business.
According to the Small Business Administration (SBA), “there are over 2.5 million veteran-owned businesses, employing over 5 million U.S. citizens and generating more than $1.1 trillion dollars in revenue.” While the list of the top 50 veteran-owned companies cannot be viewed yet, it is still a testament to the growth in support for veteran-owned companies. From veteran certifications being added to the Billion Dollar Roundtable within supplier diversity to the countless veteran-focused projects geared to helping veterans start and expand their businesses, the last 5 years has been a rousing success for veteran
