The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) has named FCA US LLC as one of its 66 top corporations for supporting women owned businesses in America. “FCA US received the honor at the 2018 WBENC Summit & Salute on March 22, 2018, in Dallas” marking the sixth consecutive year the company has received the honor. WBENC is the only organization that honors corporations with a national award focuses on women owned firms. In 2017, FCA purchased over $3 billion with women owned firms.
FCA is a bit unique when it comes to bidding for contracts as well. The company has a supplier diversity sourcing score which can represent 5 percent of a bidding company’s overall score to win a purchase contract. This added weight can hamper Tier 1 suppliers not serious about supporting minority, women, and veteran owned suppliers.
Since 1983, the Company has purchased nearly $62 billion from minority-owned, women-owned and veteran-owned suppliers. FCA US spent $8.6 billion with diverse suppliers in 2017, representing 18 percent of the Company’s total annual purchasing.
