California Water Service (Cal Water) announced that it has spent $6.6 million with disabled veteran owned businesses in 2017, tripling the number it achieved in 2016.  Cal Water released this information earlier this month to kick start National Military Appreciation Month taking place in May.

The amount spent with disabled veterans represented “2.75% of all discretionary spending, surpassing the CPUC’s goal of 1.5%, according to Cal Water President and CEO Martin A. Kropelnicki.”  The information was “reported in the utility’s 2017 Supplier Diversity Report to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) in accordance with the CPUC’s General Order 156.”
