New Zealand Minister of Police, Fisheries, Revenue and Small Business Mr Stuart Nash announced last month that the country is looking to connect with the neighbor nation of Australia to commonize invoicing approaches for more efficient payment processes.  The common e-invoice would be part of the trans-Tasman Single Economic Market Agenda and create a mutual recognition of the New Zealand New Zealand Business Number (NZBN) and the Australian Business Number, making it easier to do business across the region.

While the idea of a developing more efficient processes for businesses to operate in multiple nations is not new, this is another move forward in the ability for small businesses to perform services and receive payment faster.

This announcement comes in conjunction with New Zealand’s recently launched 2018 series of Small Business Roadshows which will help companies “take advantage of new government initiatives, especially in the digital space, to make their jobs easier and free them up to focus on their products and services.”
