The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) looking to improve its recruitment methods with minority individuals. The FBI, which is 80% white in terms of current employees, has recently taken steps to expand its reach to diversify its makeup.
FBI Special Agent Jill Sanborn spoke about the importance of diversity in the FBI stating the “the more diverse we are the better we understand different genders, different cultures and different races.”
Earlier this month, the FBI hosted an invite only recruiting event in the state of Minnesota. According to sources, the overall goal of the event was to educate aspiring minority applicants on the agency’s offerings and open positions.
In order to qualify for roles such as a Special Agent position, applicants must be between the ages of 23 and 36 years old, have a bachelor’s degree and three years of work experience. If a candidate meets the sequalifications, they will be invited to attend an invite only Diversity Agent Recruitment event.
