A new initiative from the NICSA, a non profit trade association within the financial industry is connecting with corporate firms to “increase diversity across the asset management world.” Major players have joined the push including Citigroup Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Fidelity Investments.

Called “The Diversity Project,” “part of the goal is to ensure professionals in the investment business are as diverse as the clients and communities they serve.” While a new initiative the project has been in the works for years. A similar push for women owned companies was established  at the 2018 Makers conference in January with “more than 40 companies including financial firms UBS Group AG, PayPal Holdings Inc. and Lightspeed Venture Partners” stating they will take a “range of steps designed to support women.”
