Fiverr recently released a new feature on its platform aimed at providing freelancers a new service offering.  Fiverr Learn allows sellers the chance to “deliver lessons for in-demand upskilling along with freelance training. This will not only provide new financial opportunities for freelancers, but it will also give individuals looking to acquire and develop new skill sets a globally recognized brand and platform on which to do so.”

Many see this new feature as a play at the growing market of e-learning, in which Technavio estimates the industry to grow to $272 billion by 2022.  Khan Academy was one of the first companies to prove the viability of e-learning and it appears Fiverr is going to expand into the territory over the next few years.

Fiverr Learn will start with courses “in graphic design, branding, digital marketing and copywriting with focuses on viral marketing, Facebook ads, illustration and other topics.”  The company has made it clear that they are looking to expand their offerings very soon.

Micha Kaufman, CEO and Co-Founder of Fiverr, explains in the blog post announcing the new service, “Simply put, Learn from Fiverr is built for anyone looking to monetize a passion, take an entrepreneurial endeavor to the next level, or simply learn a new skill — and this is just the beginning.
