I rarely give my personal opinion on things, but when it comes to healthcare in America, I have a few thoughts. Last month, a judge’s decision in the Texas v United States case determined that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was unconstitutional. While many conservatives may see this as a win in the long term, in the short term (e.g. the next four years), entrepreneurs like myself will see their healthcare costs increase at a high rate than normal.

According to the Washington Post, more “than half of all ACA marketplace enrollees nationwide are small-business owners, self-employed individuals or small-business employees.” What makes this worse is that, if the ruling is backed by the Supreme Court, Republicans have no plan for a better solution, and they’ve proven their unwilling to back any Democrat measure either leaving small business owners like wondering what the future of my health insurance will be.

Americans were promised a repeal and replace of Obamacare in early 2017 by the current Administration and their failure to do so has led to a situation in which everyday entrepreneurs will suffer added expenses. It’s time for conservatives to step up and make a deal that will benefit entrepreneurs focused on making America more prosperous. When it comes to Healthcare I am not happy about the current situation and I am not happy about where this is heading.
