A report found that 61% of veterans in the U.S. are using the social media site Facebook to grow their business, this is 34% higher than other small business groups. The report includes two surveys conducted by Facebook and Morning Consult in collaboration with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and its Chamber of Technology Engagement Center.
The first survey was a 50 state-level poll of 100 businesses and a national survey of 1,000 small businesses while the second involved more than 5,000 consumers surveyed on their opinion on the advantages of using digital platforms for employment and business outcomes.
The report found that almost 63% of the respondents increased hiring after joining Facebook. About 74% of veterans have used Facebook to improve trading with other cities, states and countries and 70% increased their sales. If small businesses want to succeed, they should start building and implementing online customer, vendor and employee engagement strategies.
