The Human Rights Campaign has announced a letter from several companies that are calling on Republican legislative leaders in Tennessee to oppose bills that they believe discriminate against LGBTQ people. These companies include Hilton, Nike and Unilever. They claim that legislative bills targeting LGBTQ people are not good for business, customers, employees and their families.

The bills in question include one that would allow adoption agencies to refuse to place children with parents based on written religious beliefs, one that would authorize the attorney general to defend the transgender locker room and bathroom policy of public schools, one that would bar discriminatory action by state and city agencies against companies with internal policies that comply with state law and another which provides that the state’s public indecency law applies to multi-person, single-sex changing rooms and bathrooms.
