Wells Fargo has partnered with an alliance of diverse chambers of commerce to launch the Chamber Leadership Development Program. The alliance includes the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation, the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Black Chambers Inc. and the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce.

The program aims to educate and develop leadership of diverse local and state chambers of commerce so that they can better support diverse business owners. It will include university partners and will provide innovative programming to help empower chamber leaders. The program will be offered at the conferences of the diverse chamber organizations.

The first program will take place with the US Pan American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation’s CelebrASIAN Procurement + Business Conference in Houston in June 2019. The next will be at the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce International Business and Leadership Conference in Tampa in August 2019, after that the U.S. Black Chambers National Conferences in National Harbor in August 2019 and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce National Convention in Los Angeles in September 2019 will occur.

In addition to these, there will also be two virtual sessions. Wells Fargo senior vice president and head of supplier diversity Regina Heyward said they see an opportunity to support local chambers in capacity building and to strengthen diverse leaders.
