Despite the efforts to improve diversity, increase the number of women in senior positions and close the gender pay gap in the accounting sector in the UK, the female employees of the Big Four firms were paid 20% less than their male counterparts. This is based on the data provided by the companies for 2018.

Most firms reported a minor improvement in reducing the pay gap, but KPMG LLP reported an increase in gender pay disparity. The gender pay gap reflects the lack of female partners in British accounting firms.
