Avengers: Endgame producer Trinh Tran hinted that the next batch of films for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will focus on diversity. Tran said they want to capitalize on the success of Captain Marvel and Black Panther which both raked in more than $1 billion at the box office and the studio has the properties to back up the plan.

There are already discussions on the sequels to the movies of King T’Challa and Carol Danvers and the solo Black Widow film starring Scarlett Johansson. Another planned film is the adaptation of Shang-Chi which will be directed by Daniel Cretton and will star an Asian-American actor.

Another hot topic in the MCU studio is The Eternals which is set to be directed by Chloe Zhang and will star Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani and an openly gay actor.

Marvel Studios is expected to announce soon its official plan for phase.
