MLB | Major League Baseball (MLB) has launched the Military Veteran Professionals Business Resource Group (MVP BRG). The MVP BRG aims to create an inclusive work environment for people who had a career in the military. Its mission statement is to “establish and grow a community of individuals who served in the U.S. Military, have a friend or relative who served in the U.S. Military and those interested in opportunities to promote awareness of military and veteran issues.” It will have regular meetings to discuss strategies, events and initiatives and conduct workshops related to business integration.

The MVP BRG is part of Diversity & Inclusion at MLB and one of nine groups created to help employees connect with others who care for similar social issues and have common identities and interests.  These groups provide career development opportunities, aid in business development and promote cultural awareness.

One of the initial projects is to have children of deployed military members participate in the MLB’s All-Star Weekend.
