The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Herzing University-Brookfield to offer scholarships to LGBT people in Greater Milwaukee who are working in the healthcare sector.

The scholarship will provide a 50% discount of up to $15,000, at Herzing University’s Brookfield campus for LGBT employees of three Chamber members which include Medical College of Wisconsin, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and Aurora Health Care.

Applications for the Pride in Healthcare scholarship will be accepted until August 2, 2019. Accepted applicants can enroll in the fall 2019 semester in any health-care program including Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing and Health Information Management. The scholars will be asked to volunteer for five hours a month to support the work of the LGBT Chamber of Commerce in building a diverse business community.

According to Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jason Rae, the scholarship will help develop the next generation of LGBTQ leaders in the healthcare sector.
