In Her Recently Published Article in Diversity Professional Magazine, Ingrid Watkins Has Urged The Consumer Brands to Embrace Diversity
Aug 2, 2019 – Renowned leader in supplier diversity and business development, Ingrid Watkins has said that diversity is the key to growing in the consumer market. Ingrid is the Principal & Chief Diversity Strategist at the IW Consulting Group, a company that offers Supplier Diversity Program Solutions and Business Development Consulting Services. Moreover, Ingrid has recently wrote an article entitled ‘Reactive vs. Proactive’ in the Summer 2019 issue of Diversity Professional magazine, in which she has held luxury brands accountable for cultural miscues.
“My advice to all the consumer brands is to embrace diversity because diversity is key to growing in consumer markets,” said Ingrid Watkins, in her recently published article in the Summer 2019 issue of the Diversity Professional Magazine. “There is never a good reason not to implement diversity and create a diverse corporate culture. Brands that fail to implement an inclusive culture, will fail in the marketplace,” she added. According to Ingrid, having a diverse and inclusive corporate culture impacts revenue growth. Brands are to hire diverse employees and contract with diverse businesses to prepare for changes in market demographics, spending habits and consumer trends.
During her accomplished career that began in the 1990s, Ingrid has worked in many strategic positions and she has spent 20 years at The Coca-Cola Company. Moreover, she is actively involved in various community and civic organizations; and has also served on national supplier diversity boards, committees, and councils. The list of her accomplishments is endless, and she is one of the very few individuals in the corporate world that are not afraid of embracing the new kinds of challenges in the market.
In addition, Ingrid Watkins is also a seasoned trainer who facilitates business development seminars throughout the United States. She is also a writer and author and her book titled ‘The Multicultural Trifecta: How to Create an Inclusive Corporate Culture’ is all set to be published this fall. She earned her M.B.A. from Regis University Graduate School of Business, Denver, and a B.A. in Journalism/Communications from the University of South Carolina.
