UPS launched the Women Exporters Program workshops for women business owners at the National Conference and Business Fair of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). This is part of the company’s effort to create growth opportunities and an inclusive business environment for women.

According to statistics, there are almost 12 million women-owned small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), but only 12% of them are exporters. If given the same opportunity as men, women have the potential to add $28 trillion to the global annual GDP by 2025, according to a report from McKinsey Global Institute. The program will include one-to-one coaching sessions and workshops that will cover different topics. These include export strategies, resources and tools for entering new markets, packaging and preparation of export shipment and development of an export-friendly digital presence. UPS experts will also provide advice on shipping processes, documentation and research.
