Statistics and “Forbes” magazine have compiled a list of America’s Best Employers for Diversity in 2020. The survey included more than 60,000 employees of businesses with at least a thousand staff in their operations in the U.S. The ranking was based on several factors including the diversity of executives, proactive communication on the issue of diversity and the existence of diverse culture or diverse executives.
Germany-based multinational software company SAP topped the list with a score of 85.95 out of 100. The company’s website stresses the importance of diversity in its operations. SAP has employees in more than 150 countries, more than a quarter of which are women. It also has 175 employees working through its Autism at Work Program.
Michigan-based Henry Ford Health System comes in second place with a score of 85.78. According to the company, they focus on recruiting the most qualified talent regardless of race, sexual orientation, nationality, marital status, religion, height, size, disability or veteran status.
In third place is Ohio-based Procter & Gamble with a score of 84.24. There are more than 140 nationalities represented in its workforce. The other employers included in the top 10 are Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Visa, Ultimate Software Group, Levi Strauss & Co., Duke University, JLL, and Tufts Health Plan.
