Business spend management (BSM) solutions provider Coupa has acquired ConnXus, a Mason, Ohio-based provider of supplier relationship management and diversity solutions.

ConnXus founder and CEO Rod Robinson said he decided to sell his company because he was impressed with Coupa’s commitment to supplier diversity. Coupa has made more than 10 acquisitions in its history and it is known for integrating the acquired companies’ capabilities into its business spend management platform. It plans to support all ConnXus’ existing customers and eventually migrate them to other components of its platform. Robinson will stay on and report through Coupa’s management structure.

Coupa’s Senior Vice President of Product Strategy and Innovation Donna Wilczek said they want supplier diversity to evolve to a business-driven decision and ConnXus’ capabilities can help them in accomplishing this. ConnXus has an open-ended supplier network called myConnXion which maintains profiles of current and potential partners and suppliers. It also has strengths in supplier master data management which facilitates supplier discovery and sourcing efforts.
