Honeywell, in partnership with Charlotte Center City Partners, has launched the Center City Small Business Innovation Fund to help small businesses in Uptown Charlotte adapt to the new normal created by the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic downturn. Honeywell donated an initial investment of $2 million for the fund which will provide grants of up to $40,000 to minority-, women- and veteran-owned businesses. The application for the fund will start on June 26. It is open to Charlotte-based small businesses with 50 employees or less and has an existing physical location in Uptown, South End, Midtown and Historic West End. Applicants must also have experienced adverse impacts due to the pandemic and willingness to participate in interviews and sharing of lessons learned during the crisis.
