McDonald’s Corp. has announced the launch of diversity initiatives as part of its values revamp. The revised values pertain to service, integrity, community, inclusion and family. The company’s values were last revised in 2008.

The diversity initiatives include addressing bias in hiring, reducing barriers to diverse suppliers and increasing diversity in corporate leadership, advertising and franchisees. The fast-food company will develop metrics. And Global Chief People Officer Heidi Capozzi said they will track their progress annually.

The initiatives are part of the efforts of Chief Executive Chris Kempczinski to add a modern twist to the collaborative spirit of early owner Ray Kroc.
