Major League Soccer (MLS) has established a Diversity Committee to address racism and social injustice in soccer and society.
Committee members include MLS Commissioner Don Garber, team owners and members of the Black Players for Change. The committee has launched a supplier diversity program and MLS owners committed to donating $1 million to Black Players For Change.
The league also plans to diversify youth soccer and provide defined career paths for players from underrepresented groups. Its development soccer academy, MLS Next, will work to improve the diversity of players, referees and coaches.
