Johnson & Johnson spent $5.2 billion with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers in 2021. It exceeded its Health for Humanity 2025 Goal of spending $4.5 billion with small and diverse suppliers. Chief Procurement Officer Len DeCandia said the achievement is the culmination of years of determined focus and effort, combined with strategies that highlighted the importance of a diverse supplier base.

In 2021, Johnson & Johnson increased its spending with Black- and Hispanic-owned businesses by 31% and purchased from more than 600 women-owned firms globally. It expanded its Buy Diverse program in the U.S. and launched the program in Brazil and China. The company introduced its Global Supplier Diversity & Inclusion program in India and Turkey. Johnson & Johnson also maintained its membership in the Billion Dollar Roundtable for the 10th consecutive year.
